Bokamoso Barona Trust was founded on the mandate of mobilising resources to:
aid the long-term viability and sustainability of its beneficiary organisations, namely the South African Students’ Congress (SASCO) and the Congress of South African Students (COSAS);
provide scholarships, bursaries, awards and loans for study, research and teaching;
promote leadership training and development programmes for students and youth in general;
partner with community outreach programmes in an effort to give practical application to the ethos that all students are members of the community before they become students;
promote exchange programmes that are aimed at inculcating a pan-Africanist and internationalist perspective among students and the youth in general; and
promote programmes that advance pan-African history and cultural heritage.
